Over the last decade wine has gained massive popularity and the Mexico wines of El Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California are no exception. One of my favorite Mexico wine producers is Santo Tomas and they produced a 2004 Barbera that’s pretty good.
At least it was pretty tasty about two and a half years ago when I first tried it. Either my taste buds have changed or this particular wine has a short shelf life because 2 years later, there was something different when we popped that bottle open last night . Don’t get me wrong, the wine hasn’t turned undrinkable and we did pleasantly finish the bottle but it lost some of what impressed me just 2 short years ago.
