Mexicali Golf

Club Campestre de Mexicali is where you can rub shoulders with the big shots of Mexicali and is a fun golf course that I have played many times. Located just outside Mexicali, Baja California, Club Campestre is a great course for drinking a few Tecate beers while passing the time playing a relaxing game of golf.

As you can see from the photos, Club Campestre is not known for its breath taking panoramic views, but is the only descent golf course to play in the Mexicali area. Its an old course dating back to 1959 and besides the surrounding eye soaring views, the course is in pretty good condition and not a bad way to pass a few hours.

At $40 a round on weekdays and $55 on weekends, Club Campestre is most definitely over-priced but the Tecate beers are cold and the snack bar next to hole 10 has some bomb-ass tacos and other tasty mexican treats.

If not looking for a crowd, avoid coming out on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday because this is when most of the local members play and can sometimes be hard to get on.

This guy lives off the side of holes number 7 & 13 and is sometimes outside peddling recovered golf balls. 5 pesos a pop, not bad.
